N3BI was the basic income programme of Nation3, a "network state" DAO: citizens holding a valid, non-expiring Nation3 passport NFT (backed by time-locked $NATION) could enroll in a BasicIncomeDistributor smart contract and claim continuously accruing $NATION for a year at a time. Eligibility was recomputed weekly on-chain by the NationCred contract.

Last real code commits are from September 2024 and the income.nation3.org front end no longer resolves in DNS (checked 2026-09-23), so the programme appears dormant.

- Not universal: restricted to dues-paying citizens who time-lock $NATION, so it is a club/commons dividend rather than an open UBI
- Notable as one of the few fully on-chain, contract-enforced basic incomes with an automated weekly eligibility oracle
- Marked inactive on the evidence of stalled commits and a dead front-end domain rather than a formal shutdown announcement
